Nicoletta Christina Browne
Nicoletta Christina Browne is a trans dyke geoscience educator and musician currently based in Santa Barbara, CA. She started out doing geology research, which included a stint doing fieldwork in Antarctica studying dikes (#dykestudyingdikes), but soon found that her passion lay more with education and community outreach, and presently teaches classes at Santa Barbara City College. Having transitioned in grad school and been basically the only out queer person in her department, she has a lot of not-so-nice things to say about white, cishet feminism (and white-centric queer activism) and generally believes earth scientists could stand to be more political. Outside of science, Nicoletta also plays the cello and drums, hosts a womyn/queer/POC-centric folk and Americana radio show, and watches way too much yuri anime.
